Rich text editor: Why use it, its features and what are its benefits?

If an app is being developed, then the developer is already aware of the vital descriptions required on the app store. The app description is essential to insert the keywords, but did you know that the rich text editor and its format can be introduced within the area too? There are certain functions that can be developed by an operational system and are beneficial for generating engagement between the users. Now, that being said, what exactly is a rich text editor? The rich text editor is the tool that is used in editing and transforming the text font. With this tool, it is possible to put the writings in bold, underline, copy, italic and then paste the text format over another. Also, caps lock and other functions can be used.

A primary example of a rich text editor is the Microsoft word. Using this tool, you can write a text on any computer and then save it in any way that you want, while activating all the properties that have been mentioned above. On the other hand, these changes cannot be made on a notepad. The rich text editor format can be applied for mobile devices as well. Unfortunately, if you want to create an SMS, then it is impossible to write in different forms, but there are some rich text editor applications that have adopted the function. In case such kind of an application is developed, it is possible to transform the application.

But the bad news is this is not possible for the rich text apps developed in iOS. The reason is, Apple made the products that are exclusive to Apple only, which includes iPhone, iPad, iPod and more. Now, what are the advantages of using rich text editors?

The advantages of a rich text editor and their formatting features

  • One of the primary advantages of a rich text editor is the formatting will help in conversion. One example of this is the application Boomerang. The app got 15% increment in the conversion because of the rich text format working with ASO.
  • Another benefit of the rich text editor is it offers the option to use emojis in the description. It is cool because it offers the description much more flexibility to pass a message much more naturally and differently.
  • A rich text editor allows cross-browser support, better compatibility and better quality by supporting all major browsers that include IE, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera and Safari in their latest version. This also includes Linux and Macintosh as well.
  • A rich text editor generates clean XHTML that is compliant with web standards and there are no deprecated tags. Most of the WYSIWYG editors are JavaScript wrappers present around the editing control built within the browsers just like the MSHTML control found in IE. These editors are capable of generating HTML and then run code clean-up routines against it. But they have significant limitations. On the other hand, the rich text editor is built from the ground up to be a true XHTML editor on its own right.
